When did you start riding mountain bikes? How did you get into the sport?
I’m on the bike for the 15th season by now. It started with the idea to discover the world in an athletic manner, so I planned to go around the world by bike – but I ended up as a racer, so now I get to discover the world that way.

Best moment on a bike?
Every time I am completely focussed on the bike gives me a lot of energy.

Worst moment?
I am also thankful for bad experiences, because after all that’s the ones you learn most from.

What do you consider your strengths?
My strength lies in my versatility.

And what is your weakness?
Sometimes I might lose the focus on my primary goals due to my versatility.

How does your sport need to develop in order to get more attention?
To me, it’s important that the sport is about fun and that it offers an access to nature. As long as that is given, mountain biking as a sport will be appreciated by an ever growing group of people.

Whom would you like to thank?
All the people who have always supported me and the universal force that stands behind everything.
